My career
Currently the deputy head of the General Directorate for Food at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Chief Veterinary Officer and France’s delegate to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH).
- I am a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, with a diverse career path that testifies to a high level of adaptability to different environments, situations and interlocutors in France and internationally.
- I am a specialist in veterinary public health, animal health and food-related issues with experience of crisis management, building large-scale prevention programmes and public policies such as the control of the antimicrobial resistance.
- I have extensive experience of working both in the field and at central government level and as a ministerial advisor. I have also been involved for many years in collaborative programmes and international networks. I was recently appointed Vice-Chair of the EuFMD Executive Committee at the FAO.
- I headed a higher education establishment in veterinary medicine and agronomics from 2016 to 2021 and I am therefore very familiar with the training and research field, in which I built up robust collaborative relationships with veterinary faculties in numerous countries around the world, initiating structurally significant programmes based around the "One Health" concept.
- My past career has enabled me to develop knowledge and skills in numerous domains such as management, change management, budget management, real estate management, leadership and communication.

My vision, my commitment
Animal health is central to global issues in relation to the prevention and control of epizootics, zoonoses and pandemics. It is a contributing factor in the economics of livestock farming and rural communities, as well as food security. For the last hundred years WOAH has acted as a global authority in the field of animal health, particularly in charge of building international standards.
Having devoted my efforts for many years to sanitary and food policies and as Chief Veterinary Officer for my country, I wish to commit to serving WOAH and its members in order to support and promote the national veterinary services that play a key role in animal disease surveillance and prophylaxis, the facilitation and safety of trade, prevention and control of antimicrobial resistance, animal welfare and food safety.
- I will do my best to raise the profile of WOAH, and will safeguard the principles that underpin its commitment: scientific excellence, independence, transparency, solidarity and partnership. It is thanks to ever-more collective and collegial effort that it will be possible to place this expertise at the service of the anticipation, prevention and control of animal diseases.
- I shall also devote all my energy to ensuring that WOAH and its regional networks, its collaborating centres and its reference laboratories are key, innovative and acknowledged actors in meeting the core challenges of tomorrow, in particular the prevention of emerging diseases, the sustainability and resilience of livestock farming given the climate change, the preservation of biodiversity.
- I shall engage WOAH with determination in the joint "One Health" action plan, standing alongside the WHO, FAO and UNEP, convinced as I am that our work together must be transverse in nature in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- I shall encourage veterinary services to roll out that action plan in conjunction with government administrations and competent partners in public health and the environment. I shall support efforts to attract funding.
My priorities
My action will follow the dynamic of the 7th World Assembly’s Strategic Plan for 2021-2025.
- To assert WOAH leadership and its key role in global sanitary governance in addressing the issues of the 21st century.
- To support the national veterinary services network.
- To lead WOAH in the direction of being an agile, innovative and inclusive organisation by strengthening its fundamentals.
