Professional experience

    • Unanimously concluded two European agreements during the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2022 : Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) vaccination and strategy regarding the Codex Alimentarius
    • Managed animal health, particularly HPAI and ran the dedicated vaccination campaign
    • Drew up an African swine fever prevention plan
    • Managed the presence of brucellosis in wildlife in Haute-Savoie, France
    • Following up on structural projects: reforming the unified animal-health rules; ecological planning via the Ecophyto 2030 plan and the national nutrition-food-health strategy
  • Strategic and operational management of VetAgro Sup, with a budget of €43 million, 485 agents based in Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand, 1,150 students, 12 research units and several centres of expertise and technical platforms, including the veterinary teaching hospital.

    Main achievements :

    • Rebalanced the structure and renewed budgetary processes
    • United staff and students around a “One Health” transdisciplinary concept
    • Opened up school to economic actors and civil society
    • Promoted school activities through improved communications
    • Launched two major projects: the property development plan and the 2021-2025 strategic project
  • Managing food safety and the national food programme

    Main achievements :

    • Launched an experiment in Paris and Avignon on displaying the results of restaurant inspections and putting them online via the Alim’confiance application
    • Created the Localim toolbox to help public administrators in the mass catering sector to buy high-quality local goods
  • Managing animal health and well-being and the health and quality of plants as well as public policies working on the agro-ecological transition (Ecophyto plan, Ecoantibio plan, seeds and sustainable agriculture plan) in collaboration with the Environment and Health Ministries.

    Main achievements :

    • Managing health and animal crises (bluetongue disease, resurgence of tuberculosis, brucellosis, imported rabies cases)
    • Created a national partner-oriented epidemio-surveillance platform for animal health
  • French representative in international plant health institutions (International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), European Plant Protection Organization (EPPO), EU) as Head of Phytosanitary Services

    Main achievements :

    • Undertook a successful strategy as a result of effective lobbying, on the occasion of the revision of the European regulation on plant health, to strengthen import rules.

    • Created the first national food programme (plan for safe, diversified and sustainable food)
